Red Racer Roseate Sour Ale with Peaches

Overview

Red Racer Roseate Sour Ale with Peaches Review

Central City Brewing’s Red Racer Roseate is an extremely impressive aged sour with brilliant colour and aroma and a distinctive experience on the palate.

In appearance, it is brilliant red and still, like an appealing glass of cranberry cocktail.

Its intoxicating aroma is vinous, with notes of pears, light red wine, crabapples, alcohol, cranberries and brown sugar.

For the style, this is bursting with fruit flavour. Don’t misinterpret this as implying this is a typical “fruit beer”; this is a proper, full-on, foeder-aged sour. Prominent oaked, burbouny notes permeate the brew from the two years of aging on wood.

On the palate, Roseate provides a warm buzz. It’s acetic, and lingering. This is a beer that your gums will feel.

Not for everyone, this is all the same a creation that even sour skeptics can respect. As one of the BeerSeekers said, “even though this isn’t my favourite style, I keep sipping it.”
