Big Rock Holiday Cheers Winter Spice Ale

Overview

Big Rock Holiday Cheers Winter Spice Ale Review

Big Rock’s holiday Winter Spice Ale is not the best example of a winter ale, nor is it the best example of a beer by Big Rock.

Pouring from the nicely labelled Christmas sweater can, you get a copper beverage with mild carbonation. The head dissipates to leave a beverage that is almost completely still.

On the palate, this beer is a bit like a poorly carbonated soft drink. Despite the 6 % ABV, the experience is unlike drinking any winter ale we’ve had before.

Looking for redeeming characteristics, we were challenged to find any beyond the nice appearance and packaging, which allows you to address this beer to a friend with the clever built-in gift tag. However our recommendation is to look for other, better beers from Alberta’s most venerable craft brewery.
