Andina Brewing Co. – Milk Stout Review
Andina Brewing entered the BC brewing scene in 2017 and has since added some South American flair to the industry with their antics. As a winter seasonal offering, the Andina Team has brewed up a Milk Stout which is available in 473ml cans. Adorned with an updated, simplistic label design this also shows a new direction in packaging for the brewery. Moving forward, labels will replace the plastic sleeves used in Andina’s can lineup.
Cracking open a can of this lactose infused Milk Stout, it pours with a modest amount of head which leaves light lacing behind on the glass. The aroma is rich with a nutty, toasted chocolate character along side mellow coffee and vanilla. The taste experience starts of with a light body that has a slight creaminess in the texture. The chocolate notes come through in some strength along side a mellow vanilla sweetness. At 5.6% it is somewhat strong for the style but comes through light and is quite easy drinking. Finishing the flavour, a mellow bitter-chocolate character lingers behind.
Andina is best known for their southern-inspired brews but this Milk Stout brings it home with a style more typical of North America and hits the point on flavour.
