Port Moody’s newest brewery to be helmed by award-winner

Port Moody, BC (April 24th 2019)—Fraser Mills Fermentation Company, an ambitious startup opening this summer, has hired Ashley Brooks as their head brewer.

Ashley is a  graduate of Kwantlen Polytechnic University‘s Brewing and Brewery Operations program, and has a B.Sc. in Microbiology from the University of British Columbia.

Previously serving as assistant brewer at Yaletown Brewing Company and Bomber Brewing, she took over as head brewer at Surrey’s Big Ridge Brewing Co. In her year there, her Clover IPA took a gold medal at the 2016 BC Beer Awards.

Her background in Microbiology and deep understanding of the brewing process gained her a position as Quality Control Manager at Four Winds Brewing.

Originally from Vancouver Island, Ashley now lives in Steveston. She is an avid outdoors enthusiast with an ongoing passion for good food and great beer.

Ashley not only brings her background in Microbiology to the team, but also an Associate of Science degree, along with a deep-rooted work ethic, coming out of a family that has its roots in the timber industry in BC. FMFC looks forward to her continued success as one of BC’s best brewers.

Fraser Mills Fermentation Company is slated to open in August 2019 in Port Moody, and will be producing not only Craft beer, but also wine, cider, mead and soda, with 99 seats and a sunny patio facing St. Johns street. Find out more at @frasermillsfc on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
