Whistle Buoy Brewing Co- Coastality West Coast Pale Ale

Overview

Whistle Buoy Brewing Co- Coastality West Coast Pale Ale Review

Just over a year ago, the Whistle Buoy team started pouring beer in one of the best spots in Victoria BC, the Market Square. With their uniquely placed patio back open (with safe social distancing, of course), it is a great time to check them out and their constantly rotating selection of beers. One of the few mainstays, Coastality West Coast Pale Ale, will also likely be pouring. Let us take a closer look.

Coastality is a slightly cloudy golden with a moderate white head that lingers well. It is well carbonated. There is a lemon forward aroma with balancing bread and grain notes. It is medium-bodied. Again in the flavour there is a lemon hoppiness with notes of white grape, pome and stone fruit. This interplays with the bread and biscuit maltiness and medium-low bitterness. Coastality finishes relatively quick with lemon, honey, and a touch of bitterness.

The name Coastality comes from a word the brewery created in reference to their connection to living on the West Coast. It’s about balancing the hardworking lifestyle while taking advantage of all that the West Coast has to offer.
