Vancouver Island Brewing, from Victoria, has not only come up with a new look and bright coloured graphics but have also created  a lot of unique seasonal beers. The Magic Hour grapefruit Gose is their latest  Spring/Summer seasonal.

Is it a Gose? Is it a Radler? Well, this beer is both! The brewing team behind V.I.B. created a Radler style beer but instead of using the traditional choice of lager, they decided to go for the Gose style. Whats the difference? A traditional Radler is a 50/50 blend of a light crisp lager and fruit juice, usually grapefruit. The Magic Hour Gose uses a Gose as its base mixed with grapefruit juice, giving this beer a slightly salty and sour flavour and mouthfeel.

This straw coloured beer pours just slightly hazy with a huge mousse like head that dissipates quickly. It is light in body and  light carbonation with a slightly dry yet salty and tart citrusy  finish. With being only 2.4% it is very drinkable and a good thirst quencher for the warmer months.
