Torchlight Brewing – Awesome Flavour Hazy IPA

Overview

Torchlight Brewing – Awesome Flavour Hazy IPA Review

Established in 2014, and set in picturesque Nelson, BC, Torchlight Brewing has certainly become a pleasant addition to the brew scene there. We seldom get Torchlight beers in Vancouver, so when I saw this one I grabbed it! And pretty cool looking label!

Awesome Flavour Hazy IPA, is sadly lacking in the awesome flavour and can barely be described as hazy. The beer was brewed in 2018 so chances are the can I picked up was stale dated. The aroma was primarily grassy but had light hints of peach, guava and mango. It poured out a very light golden colour with a moussey white head reminiscent of latte froth, but there was no haze :-( The mouthfeel was creamy but very thin, more like a session IPA.The flavour had a light refreshing tropical taste to it and it certainly did not come across as 7%. There was no bitterness from the hops, only tropical sweetness.

I only wish I had been able to try this beer when it first came out, chances are the hop profile would have shined through more.
