Powell Brewery Staycation DDH Blonde Ale

Overview

Powell Brewery Staycation DDH Blonde Ale Review

Powell Brewery has released another batch of the double dry hopped blonde ale called Staycation. Previously using Lemondrop hops and lupulin powder, this time around they have chosen to showcase Galaxy hops. Clocking in at 5.8% ABV, this isn’t your dad’s blonde ale, as the Galaxy hops take centre stage in this low bitterness brew. Tropical and citrus notes typical of Galaxy hops dominate with passion fruit, lemon, peach, and, to a lesser extent, pineapple, showing well.

Although not by the numbers stylistically, this blonde should be on any hophead’s hit list, looking for something a little less demanding than their last triple IPA.

Appearance: Less clarity than other blondes

Palate: Soft mouthfeel, easy going
