Smithers Brewing Co.- Twin Falls Pale Ale Review

Opening in 2018, Smithers Brewing is a custom build, 3,000 sq ft space in downtown Smithers. This brewery came about when two long-time friends, Adin and Blaine, recruited business partners Sascha, Jeremy, and eventually Cam to help them build and open it. According to the Smithers Brewing website, Cam McKeigan is head brewer after spending some time brewing at Wheelhouse Brewing, another northern BC brewery.

One of Smithers Brewing’s core lineup is Twin Falls Pale Ale. It is dark gold in colour with an aggressive white head that lingers very well and leaves good lacing. It is pleasantly hoppy on the nose with grass, pine, and a soft honey maltiness underneath. The aroma also has hints of citrus and floral notes. It is full-bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is well attenuated maltiness with toasted biscuit and bread notes. This is balanced by a layer of pine, citrus, and floral hoppiness with a small amount of bitterness. There is a bit more bitterness in the long finish where it joins the well-balanced malts and hops.

Smithers Brewing Company beers are now available to order online and shipping is Canada-wide with Canada Post.
