Settlement Brewing : Brave Noise Pale Ale

Overview

Settlement Brewing : Brave Noise Pale Ale Review

Settlement Brewing used to be called Postmark Brewing until new ownership brought on a rebrand. One of their recent limited releases is Brave Noise Pale Ale. You might be aware of other breweries producing Brave Noise, including Persephone Brewing and Herald Street Brew Works. Just in case you hadn’t heard Brave Noise “is a global collaboration with a big goal: A safe and discrimination-free beer industry. Brave Noise is advocating for safe spaces and inclusive environments by requesting breweries be transparent with their policies and commit to long-term work.” (https://www.bravenoisebeer.com/) Settlement has their code of conduct as a scannable QR code on the side of the can. They are also donating partial proceeds to the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre.

This pale ale pours a cloudy yellow, with a medium white head that lingers well. It is very citrus forward on the nose with notes of marmalade and stewed tangerine. The mouthfeel is exceptionally fluffy, like a brand new pillow but stuffed with hop flowers. The flavour is mild with soft grain, mild citrus and floral hops. There are also some mango and stone fruit notes. There is little to no bitterness. The finish is moderately long with a hint of sweet honeydew melon flavour coming through.
