Neighbourhood Brewing – All Together IPA Review

COVID-19 has turned the world around and has made us all have to think twice about our actions. More than most industries, the beer world and drinkers are really suffering because beer drinking and socializing go hand in hand. The craft beer industry loves collaborations-the getting together of brewers to create a beer for a cause, and of course, also drink beer. Due to COVID-19, all beer/brewery collaborations worldwide were cancelled, until brewers from the Other Half Brewing in the USA came up with an idea! A worldwide, open-ended beer collaboration created to raise support for the industry! They created the recipe, as well as label artwork and a name free of charge for all to use. Since the project was announced in March, there have been over 800 breweries in over 52 countries involved with at least 6 breweries in BC. Neighbourhood Brewing, not yet open in Penticton was one, and the only one to date I have had the opportunity to try.

Head brewer Darren, from Neighbourhood Brewing, took the recipe and tweaked it for a West Coast interpretation, so you know it is loaded with hops! Light golden in colour, with just a hint of haze and mild carbonation, but the aromatics of tropical and stone fruit with citrus draw you in. For a 6.5% beer, it is very light-bodied and extremely drinkable. To me, it tastes more like an ISA as it is so crushable. Crisp, hoppy and refreshing but without the resiny bite you get from so many West Coast IPA’s. A tasty and refreshing beer that also supports the brewing community!
