Strange Fellows Brewing Releases CIVITAS Belgian Single

VANCOUVER – Following on the heels of the announcement that the Eastside Culture Crawl is back to “normal” this year*, Strange Fellows Brewing is pleased to announce the release of our third Helping Hands Beer – CIVITAS in honour of their 25th anniversary!

CIVITAS Belgian Single

Commemorating 25 years of connecting artists and community, CIVITAS celebrates East Van’s own champion of creative expression and public engagement – the Eastside Arts Society, producers of the beloved Eastside Culture Crawl! Pour a glass of this dry and aromatic Belgian-style single and join us in a toast to their mission to bring community together through art and to inspire the next generation of artists.

  • STYLE Belgian Single

BREWER’S NOTES
Brewed with a classic Belgian yeast strain this unique take on a monastic Patersbier is dry, bright and well carbonated. Aromatic and softly spicy, a judicious addition of lemongrass and coriander bring floral aromatics and a pithy delicate lemon character.

The Helping Hands Project Series is inspired by our desire to help folks in our community by doing what we do best – brewing beer – and donating the profits.

Proceeds ($4/4-pack) from CIVITAS will be donated to the Eastside Arts Society.

Third in our series and meaning “community”, CIVITAS was brewed to celebrate 25 years of the Eastside Arts Society’s infamous Culture Crawl and their mission to promote and preserve the unique artistic ecology of Vancouver’s Eastside which has the highest concentration of artists per capita than anywhere else in Canada. In addition to their advocacy work, the ESAS also supports local youth with Studio 101 – a program for inner-city schools that inspires the next generation of young artists.

* The Eastside Arts Society has announced that the 25th anniversary of the Eastside Culture Crawl will take place November 12-14 (preview by appointment) and November 18-21 (open studios). Held in strict compliance with public health protocols, this year’s Crawl will allow patrons to visit the studios of over 400 local artists or to participate online via virtual studio tours.

Strange Fellows is an East Vancouver craft brewery inspired by tradition and creativity that celebrates the strange and the extraordinary. We gratefully acknowledge that we occupy and benefit from the unceded lands of the Tsleil-Waututh, Squamish and Musqueam nations.
