Stanley Park Brewing Wins Best Hazy Pale Ale At World Beer Awards

October is not only BC Craft Beer Month but today is also Canadian Beer Day. In recognition of these two events, Stanley Park Brewing is excited to announce that they recently won World’s Best Hazy Pale Ale for their Waypoint Hazy Pale Ale at the World Beer Awards. The World Beer Awards are an annual event judged by a panel of industry experts, that selects the best in internationally recognized styles of beer and awards the world’s top brews. Along with this huge international achievement, they also received five national beer category and nine design category honours.

To celebrate this huge accolade and to recognize that today is Canadian Beer Day 🇨🇦🍺, come down to our brewpub for an exclusive Beer Flight, featuring four of our winning beers at the 2021 World Beer Awards! Raise a glass with us to celebrate the Canadian beer industry and the people who brew it, sell it, serve it, and drink it.

The first 100 flights will include a limited edition snack (on us!) and a reusable metal pint cup for your Stanley Park beers at home.

You’ll also be entered to win a pair of tickets to our next holiday beer pairing dinner. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

According to Stanley Park Brewmaster Thom Riley, “After winning Bronze last year and now best in Canada and the World, it is reassuring to see that the work we put into improving our beers year over year is noticed. It’s not the reason why I do it, but it’s always nice to be recognized and have a sense of appreciation for what we do. We know that this is one of the most preferred styles in British Columbia and speaks to how much people love this style here. In my mind, I still see room for improvement, we’re still tweaking it. I want to make sure that we’re doing the right thing to continue to make our beers better.”

This international award for Waypoint was achieved above and beyond the five national medal titles Stanley Park Brewing received including: National Gold for the Secret Cellar Bourbon Barrel Stout – Imperial Stout and the Waypoint Hazy Pale Ale – American Style Pale Ale; National Silver for their Park Sesh Lager – International Lager; and National Bronze for both Trail Hopper IPA – American Style Pale Ale and the Passion Fruit Crush Sour – Flavoured Sour.

The brewery also won nine awards in the design categories. This includes silver medals in the New Launch category for their Park Sesh Lager, The Captain Hazy IPA, Passionfruit Crush Sour, and its Secret Cellar Bourbon Barrel Stout, and bronze medals in the Can Design category for their Electro Lager, Park Sesh Lager, The Captain Hazy IPA, and Passionfruit Crush Sour, in addition to the overall Best Can Range.
