For Immediate Release

May 4, 2019 (Chilliwack, BC) – Old Yale Brewing, a craft brewery based in BC’s adventure playground, Chilliwack, continues to blaze new trails using their 20 years of successful brewing (including Canadian Brewing Awards “Beer of the Year” win for their Sasquatch Stout in 2014). Today, Old Yale Brewing celebrates their 20th anniversary by releasing an original recipe beer.

Celebrating 20 years

Since their start in 1999, Old Yale has stayed true to their roots; seeking balance using the finest, all-natural ingredients combined with Canada’s best drinking water to craft quality and truly unique craft beers. Today, as they begin celebrations for their 20th anniversary with the release of a 1999 original, that mission has never rung truer.

“We are incredibly proud and humbled by this milestone we are celebrating in 2019. As one of the first craft breweries in BC, we’ve seen the industry evolve enormously. Our Sergeant’s IPA was known for many years as a revolutionary beer in the Canadian craft beer landscape, winning gold at the Canadian Brewing Awards 3 years in a row. Our 20th anniversary gave us the perfect opportunity to do a throwback tribute to this fantastic IPA.” – said Zach Van Leeuwen, General Manager, Old Yale Brewing.

New Beer Launching: Sergeant’s English India Pale Ale
ABV: 6.0%
Hops: Magnum, Golding, Cascade
Malt: Pale, Crystal 40

Originally released in 1999, the Sergeant’s English IPA joins the ranks of Old Yale’s Trailblazer Series; a series that features bold new flavours and ingredients, combined to craft truly one-of-a-kind beers.

This traditional English IPA has a balanced malty backbone with an assertive bitterness that’s complimented by the floral, herby and slightly citrus hop character. Brewed using the 1999 recipe, this throwback favourite will only be available for a limited time.

“Reviving an old classic, both in style and recipe, our English IPA aims to relive the glory days of our Sergeant’s IPA. Traditional UK hops providing herbal, floral characters are supported by a malty backbone and assertive bitterness.” – stated Old Yale’s Brewmaster, Nick Fengler.

Sergeant’s English IPA is available in 473ml 4-packs in Private Liquor Stores and the Old Yale Brewing Tasting Room. Visit the Brewery’s Store Locator tool to find a licensed establishment or retail store near you at www.oldyalebrewing.com. Or, stop by the brewery for a taste!
