Old Yale Brewing Announces Completion of 11,000 Square Foot Brewery

April 30, 2019 (Chilliwack, BC) – Old Yale Brewing, a craft brewery based in BC’s adventure playground, Chilliwack, continues to blaze new trails using their 20 years of successful brewing (including Canadian Brewing Awards “Beer of the Year” win for their Sasquatch Stout in 2014). Today, Old Yale Brewing’s new brewery expansion is officially up and running, full speed ahead.

Hot off their recent Tasting Room expansion this past Fall of 2018, which doubled in size and capacity, Old Yale Brewing is excited to announce the completion of their Brewery expansion that’s taken almost 18 months to complete.
“We started our most recent expansion in early 2018 – the full process including planning, equipment purchasing, construction and setup took nearly 18 months. We expanded our overall brewery space by 3,700 square feet bringing us to a total just shy of 11,000 square feet of production space. This new space will house our fully automated, state of the art canning line and quality control laboratory. To keep this packaging line busy, we’ve also expanded our tank farm by a further 30,000 liters. This expansion will allow us to keep up with the ever-growing demand for our hand-crafted beers and expand our reach into new markets.” – said Zach Van Leeuwen, General Manager, Old Yale Brewing.
The 3,700 square foot expansion includes a dedicated packaging space, a new quality control laboratory and additional tanks, allowing the Chilliwack-based craft brewery to expand its production size and focus on quality control for their premium, quality lineup that includes the award-winning Sasquatch Stout, crisp and clean Knotty Blonde Ale, bold and hoppy West Coast IPA and most recent Trailblazer release Weekend Warrior Double IPA, exclusively available in BC Liquor Stores.
“The expansion of the brewery is not only going to allow us to greatly increase the volume of beer, but also will give us the ability to have more control throughout our packaging process. An increased number of quality assurance check points, and improved measurement capabilities will ensure that our beer is being held to the highest standards. With the increase in production volume, we will be able to have more freedom in creating small batch, limited beers – more experimental and fun for our brew team and customers – while continuing to maintain our core beers we’ve all become so accustom to.” – stated Old Yale’s Brewmaster, Nick Fengler.
