Off The Rail Brewing Gives Back In Raising The Spirits for John Mann of Spirit of the West

Since launching The Spirit Lifter Pilsner last June, Off The Rail Brewing Co. has donated $14,000 in support of John Mann and his family as he continues his battle with Alzheimer’s. A cheque presentation recently took place at Off The Rail Brewing Co. with John Mann and Jill Daum, band member Geoffrey Kelly and friends and family of the band.

Since the start of the campaign over a year ago the residents of British Columbia have contributed with an outpouring of support by purchasing a six pack of the Spirit Lifter Pilsner available at all BC liquor stores and licensed retail locations throughout the province.

Aligning their beer to a cause that is special to their heart was an easy choice for Off The Rail Brewing Co. “Behind the scenes Off The Rail Brewing Co. is busy raising more than a glass of beer to lift someone’s spirits” says Steve Forsyth.

The relationship with the band dates back when Steve Forsyth and his family owned the legendary Railway Club. In the early days of their career Spirit of the West performed frequently at the venue showcasing their energetic blend of Celtic, Folk and Rock cementing a lifetime of friendship.

“I have been a dyed in the wool German pilsner loving snob most of my beer drinking life. The notion that a craft brewer could persuade me otherwise was laughable. Not only have Off The Rail succeeded in doing this they have also helped support the ongoing care of my dear friend and bandmate John Mann. For both of these things I am deeply grateful. Prost!” Geoffrey Kelly (SOTW)
