NEW BEER! The Maiden Voyage Cedar Aged Pale Ale

BC Craft Brewers GuilsThe BC Craft Brewers Guild in conjunction with Central City Brewers + Distillers and Four Winds Brewing are proud to present the inaugural Guild-branded collaborative brew. Maiden Voyage Cedar Aged Pale Ale is the first in a series that will see the Guild coordinate BC craft brewery collaborations throughout the year introducing exciting BC craft beers.

At the helm of Maiden Voyage are two of BC’s best brewers, Gary Lohin (Central City) and Brent Mills (Four Winds).

The inspiration for the new beer came when the two breweries got together. It’s an innovative style that’s a first in BC. Both Central City and Four Winds are excited about the beer.

BCCBGLohin: “I was really excited about this particular style, as it’s one that has been in my mind for sometime now. I’ve been looking for a time and place to brew it, and this new venture from the BC Craft Brewers Guild gave us the chance to collaborate with Brent Mills from Four Winds on it. I hope this cedar aged beer strikes a chord with BC consumers given all the cedar we have around us here on the West Coast.”

Mills: “It was such a great opportunity to work side by side with Gary from Central City and to design a beer to help support the BC Craft Brewers Guild. It has been an honour for Four Winds being a new kid on the block to be a part of this inaugural collaboration series. I am very excited to try this beer when it’s ready to hit the shelves.”

Ken Beattie, the Executive Director of the Guild, is excited to kick off the collaborative series with two of BC’s most adventurous craft breweries.

Beattie: “Our goal was to showcase the sense of community that occurs everyday between BC Craft Brewers. We are asking our long time members to collaborate with our newest members to create an exclusive limited release beer. These special collaborations will be available four times a year and will be anticipated and enjoyed by craft beer enthusiasts all over the province.”

The collaborative series will resume in Spring 2015 as the Guild pairs up two more breweries, continuing in the spirit of collaboration that lives at the core of BC’s craft beer community.

Maiden Voyage Cedar Aged Pale Ale will be available in BC Liquor stores throughout the province in 650ml bottles starting October 3.
