Four Winds Original Series Mixed Packs & Pomona 2020

Original Series Mixed Packs are Back!

Our first run of the Original Series Mixed Pack was a big success, so we decided to release them again! Our IPA, Pale Ale, Saison, and Pilsner were what originally brought customers through our doors, and now they can take home all four beers in one convenient package. We built our brand around slowly refining these original recipes and are excited to showcase them in one package again for B.C.’s thirsty craft beer lovers!

Original Series Mixed Packs are on sale now through the takeout window in the Four Winds tasting room and are also available online for shipping and delivery through our online shop here. We will begin shipping cases out to shops next week.

Pomona Wood-Aged Stone Fruit Sour

On the heels of last week’s successful (and now sold-out) cork and cage sour release, Clairvoyance, comes a beer both similar in style and execution in Pomona. We’ve been brewing this Wood-Aged Stone Fruit Sour Wheat Ale since 2016 and it is consistently one of our best, most cherished beers. Pomona was aged on hand-processed whole fruit with Lactobacillus and Brettanomyces. We designed this recipe to let the fleshy, tart stone fruits dominate the palate. The beer already has the flavour of apricots before we add the fruit due to the combination of hops, yeast, and bacteria. We then age this beer in two 4000 L foeders with 4000 lbs of squashed nectarines and whole apricots. The pit of the apricot gives the beer a subtle, bitter almond flavour that plays nicely alongside the sharp acidity and bright fruit.

Tasting Notes: Pit fruit (notably apricot), wheat ale, slight Brett funk, light and refreshing.

Food Pairing: Arugula salad with manchego and artichoke hearts, berry pavlova, fish and chips, salmon salad sandwiches.

Availability: Pomona is on sale now through our tasting room take out window and is also available to purchase online for local beer delivery & shipping across B.C. We will begin shipping cases out to shops across the province later this week.
