Central City Launches “Hopping Mad” Dry Hopped Cider
Central City Hops into the Premium Craft Cider category Aims to lead the craft cider segment in Canada with launch of “Hopping Mad Dry Hopped Apple Cider”
Surrey, B.C. – In another bold move, Central City Brewers + Distillers has entered the craft cider market with the launch of Hopping Mad Dry Hopped Apple Cider.
Hopping Mad Dry Hopped Apple Cider is a dry-sweet cider blending Yakima valley hops with fresh pressed apples from the Pacific Northwest. Hopping Mad Dry Hopped Cider is cold fermented from scratch, using Northwest Apples, Yakima Hops and a special yeast. The dry hopping process used adds a nice hop aroma onto the dry sweet, cider, complementing the cider’s natural tart flavour.
“It’s an exhilarating time for us at Central City to be able to create new and exciting products. We are best known for our expertise and passion for brewing quality, hoppy craft beers so creating a dry hopped craft cider makes perfect sense for us,” says Gary Lohin, Brewmaster at Central City. “Our cider will satisfy thirsty craft beer enthusiasts who enjoy cider, and cider enthusiasts who enjoy hops.”
Handcrafted at Central City’s brewery, Hopping Mad features a new, unique and audacious design that was the result of a collaboration between several artists and Central City’s marketing team. “To complement our new craft cider, we really wanted to make a visual impact that is unique and different that can stand alone from our Red Racer craft beer brand,” says Tim Barnes, Central City’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “This is an exciting venture for us, and we believe our Hopping Mad Cider will help to make us leaders in the Canadian craft cider market.
Central City’s Hopping Mad Cider (6.5% ABV) is now available in draught and in 6-packs of 355 ml cans in and private liquor stores in early April.
