Cannery Brewing’s Kindling Imperial Stout is Back!

Kindling Imperial Stout

Just in time for the festive holiday season, our Kindling Imperial Stout is back. Kindling is brewed with chocolate, Canadian oats, coconut, and coffee beans from Naramata’s Homestead Roastery. It is available now on tap and in single 473ml cans in our taproom.

Watch for it at private liquor stores around BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan in the coming days. For a list of stores in Alberta that have ordered in the Kindling, click here.

This rich and delicious limited release Kindling is the perfect complement to Canada’s winter wonderland.

Small beginnings. An even smaller spark. Growing…. glowing, to light the soul, to warm the heart, to strengthen the hand. From small things, great things come.

Homestead Roastery

Lon and Nicole Ford, the owners of Homestead Roastery were very excited to collaborate with us on this beer again this year.

“When we got the call from Ian looking for the ideal coffee for the Kindling Imperial Stout, we had to think carefully about the roast profile selection. Our fresh roasted Brazilian bean was a natural fit with the rich chocolatey notes of this beer. We were thrilled to be a part of this collaboration with Cannery Brewing.”

Barrel Aged Kindling

We pulled out some of this batch of Kindling to barrel age it. We racked it and we are currently aging it in 3 seasoned wet Laird of Fintry Whisky barrels from Okanagan Spirits in Vernon. We plan to age it in barrels for 3 months.

Watch for a very limited release of this barrel aged Kindling in spring of 2022.
