Breweries battle in Keg Curling Fundraiser

The Comox Valley Curling Club is hosting the Battle of The Breweries Keg Curling Fundraiser — a spectator-friendly and fan-participation event, Saturday, March 23 at 8 p.m.

The Cumberland Brewing Company, Forbidden, Gladstone, and Land & Sea will face off in this ridiculous event where beer kegs will be curled on the ice.

In the spirit of craft brewing, and curling for that matter, the rivalries are supportive and friendly. Darren Adam and Mike Tymchuk of Cumberland Brewing are regular curlers, as are Daniel Sharratt and Alexandra Stephenson of Gladstone Brewing. This is a chance for on ice bragging rights!

For five dollars a shot, anyone in attendance will be welcome to try shooting a beer keg. The keg closest to the button will win a brewery gift pack with beer, apparel and an assortment of sudsy prizes. Proceeds from the event will go to Comox Valley Coldest Night of the Year, supporting the the CV Transition Society.
