Bridge Brewing - Pear Milkshake IPA Review Bridge Brewing Co. – Pear Milkshake IPA Review

Building upon their Milkshake IPA series of beers the Bridge Brewing Company has released the Pear Milkshake IPA. This beer comes in bomber bottles and boasts 6.0% alcohol and 45 IBUs. Pouring the beer it is a hazy, light-amber colour that is less “milkshaky” than you may expect. The two fingers of head settles with dense lacing of head on the glass’ sides. The aroma is spicy with strong cardamom character that lets just a smidgen of pear aroma through. Tasting the beer too, cardamom is the primary flavour while the lactose gives a smooth and lightly sweet character to the beer. The cardamom spice masks most everything else including the hop tones that would be expected in the finish. This is a decent spiced milkshake beer but the pear and IPA are difficult to pull out of the mix.

Alcohol – 6.0%
IBU – 45
