Vancouver Island Brewing has entered the session ale business with their Sombrio Citrus Session. Brewed with orange peel and wheat and coming in at 4.0% alcohol this is a fruity and light version of the easy drinking style. Pouring from the can the beer is golden-orange in colour and has one finger of lacing head. The aroma is big with orange peel, lemon and a nice, tropical fruit hop character. Sipping the beer it is light in body and has less intense fruit character than on the nose. The orange peel notes build along side a wheaty mouthfeel and citrus character with light sweetness. As this settles, a mild bitterness grows and lingers afterwards. This bitterness could be from the hops or orange peel but it settles the overall flavour as it comes to a close.

Alcohol – 4.0%
Size – 6 x 355ml (also in mix pack)
