Yukon Brewing Co. - Charming & Tedious Review Yukon Brewing – People are Either Charming or Tedious Maple Wee Heavy Scotch Ale Review

British Columbia’s neighbours to the North in Yukon Territory are celebrating 20 years of brewing under the name of Yukon Brewing Co. The first beer in their 20th anniversary series of releases is a Maple Wee Heavy. The Charming or Tedious pours a colour of dark caramel brown from the bomber bottle and is topped with one finger of lacing head. Smelling the beer an aroma of toffee, caramel and light earthy-smoke in a fairly sweet manner from the maple content. Tasting the brew the smoke character comes through in greater intensity than was on the nose. Peeted malt gives an intensity to the beer while the maple seems subtle and downplayed. The sweetness from the maple though does add to the toffee like character that comes through as the flavour progresses. Despite the smoke character and sweetness of the beer along with the 7.1% alcohol rating the body remains quite light for the style and what may be expected.

Alcohol – 7.1%
