Howe Sound Brewing Co Sea to Sky Marzen BottleHowe Sound Brewing Co. – Sea to Sky Märzen Review

The seventh beer in Howe Sound Brewing Company’s Sea to Sky series is another German style beer, the Sea to Sky Märzen.  The beer pours from the bomber bottle a clear amber colour with one finger of off-white head that leaves plenty of lacing behind.  Buscuit and bready malt tones dominate the aromas from the beer and are paired with caramel notes and light grassy tones.  In the mouth the S2S Märzen presents flavours of caramel and buscuits.  Hops are incredibly subtle and used only to provide balance, creating a light and clean beer with a smooth finish.  The bitterness created by the hops is mild but balanced and still lets the malt character shine through.

Alcohol – 5.0% ABV
IBU – 20
Malts – Pilsner, 2-Row, Munich, Victory, Carapils
Hops – Saaz, Hallertau
Size – 650mL

I love that Howe Sound is finally doing more experimentation. I have always really like there beer but they had gone stagnant on new beers for quite a while.

This series is definitely a good way to show off their talents. Really enjoying what they’re producing.
