Dageraad Brewing – Anno 2016 Review
Dageraad once again brought back the Anno 2016, their annual winter beer this time in 750mL bottles. As with previous years, this Belgian Golden Strong Ale is brewed with pears from Keremeos BC and Indian Coriander to give it a little something special. The Anno 2016 pours a cloudy golden colour with three fingers of dense, lingering head that leaves some lacing behind in the glass. The aroma is of pears and honey, along with yeast, fresh bread, dried fruit and herbal notes. In the mouth the flavour is initially boozy and followed up by pear, coriander spice, some honey and grainy malts. Anno 2016 is a warming beer that is medium bodied with the alcohol prominent but not overpowering. Anno 2016 presents a fruity and slightly dry finish that continues to warm as the alcohol builds. This is a beer that can be enjoyed now but will definitely improve with age.
Alcohol – 8.5%
Size – 750mL
