Red Collar Brewing Belgian Witbier Review Red Collar Brewing Co. – Limited Release Belgian Witbier Review

Kamloops BC’s Red Collar Brewing has been brewing in their Limited Release line of beers and have come up with the Belgian Wit. This Witbier comes in bomber bottles and pours a colour of gold with a fairly cloudy appearance. A thick finger’s worth of dense head settles slowly and leaves lacing behind on the glass. The Red Collar Wit has an aroma of coriander, orange peel and is both fresh and strong. At 6.0% this is a strong beer for the style but the aroma remains relatively light. The body starts off light and slowly becomes heartier as the tasting progresses. The notes of orange peel and other citrus character are up front in the flavour while a coriander and light pepper spice linger in the background. The body and flavour does have signs of being a bit higher in alcohol than typical one may not guess it to be 6.0%. This beer is big with citrus flavour, remains very sessionable and has a bit more of a kick than may meat the tongue.

Alcohol – 6.0%

That might actually be more interesting to me than a topical Wit as I find many a bit lacking. I like the sound of the orange notes found in this one.
