Dageraad Brewing Co. – Londen English Porter Review

When you are a Belgian brewery in British Columbia a melding of cultures and flavours is at the root of your brand. Dageraad has ventured one step further though with the Londen release. As a “Canadian take on a Belgian rendition of an English Porter”. This multicultural beer pours a dark brown colour that lets some light through. Topped with one finger of head this beer smells of traditional porter notes paired with a unique fruitiness and spice of Belgian heritage. A Belgian yeast gives this porter a unique international twist. Tasting the beer the Belgian influence becomes even more apparent. The flavour is where an English Porter meets a Belgian Dubbel. The chocolate and roasted malt tones are joined by a dark, dried fruit sweetness and body. The flavour combo is a little unexpected but surprisingly delicious at the same time. This beer is one of a kind and turned out quite well!
