Overview

Townsite & Persephone Coastal Collaboration Ale ReviewTownsite & Persephone Brewing Coastal Collaboration #1 Belgian Single Review

The Sunshine Coast is home to two breweries that embrace community and running things a little different than your typical city brewery. Townsite and Persephone Brewing paired up to brew a Belgian Single called the Coastal Collaboration #1. This lighter side of Belgian beers comes in at 5.6% and 35 IBUs. From the bomber bottle it pours as a lightly clouded, golden-straw colour with two thick fingers of dense and lacing head. From the brew comes an aroma rich with lemon and orange freshness, mild hop-bittered tones and a subtle yeast-tone. The beer is light bodied and off the bat comes a light lemon freshness in a refreshing flavour. This builds into an orange-peel citrus bitterness that lingers with a hop-bittered bite. The Yeast tones are more mild in the flavour than they were in the smell but still make a subtle addition to the citrus-forward flavours. This beer is big on flavour while r14emaining easy drinking and very refreshing.

Alcohol – 5.6%

That sounds really good. It is a style that I find is undeserved in BC and could really use to be made more often.
