Powell Street Brewery Dunkelweizen Review Powell Street Brewery – Dunkelweizen Review

In the days where the leaves are changing and the air is cooling one can only dream of the flavours of Germany and Oktoberfest. The next best thing to being there is the delicious flavour of a German beer such as a Dunkelweizen. The Powell Street Brewery has brewed up this traditional German beer. From the bottle the beer pours as a very dark brown colour that lets a sliver of light through. Topped with just shy of two fingers of head the Powell Dunkelweizen has an aroma of wheat, chocolate and dried fruit. Tasting the beer it has a body that is light and creamy with a light chocolate flavour and a dried fruit tone that is almost the slightest bit sour. The richness of the flavour has a distinct, natural sweetness as well that melds with the German wheat tones for a balanced, flavourful and beer that has a light warming sensation to it while remaining light on the tongue and easy to drink.
