Persephone Harvest Fresh Hop Pale Ale Persephone Brewing Co. – Harvest Pale Ale Review

The first of two fresh hop beers to come from the Persephone Brewing Company is the Harvest Pale Ale. This wet-hopped beer was brewed with Cascade Hops that were picked on August 22nd from the Persephone farm in Gibsons BC. From the bottle this beer pours a light amber colour with nearly three fingers of lacing head that leaves a film behind on the glass’s sides. An light aroma of citrus, pine, grapefruit and pine comes through with a light grass aroma that adds a lightness to the pale ale. In the flavour a fairly smooth body makes way for a nice malty start to the beer before the grapefruit, citrus and spiced hop flavour builds. The fresh hop tones come in a fairly subtle yet unmistakable fresh, grassy and resinous tone that ads a subtle sharpness to the beer. The Harvest Pale Ale is a great balance of BC Pale Ale flavours and the freshness that comes with a wet-hopped beer.
