Red Collar Brewing Company is located in Kamloops, B.C. and they have released a Belgian, Trappist style Tripel. This traditional, big beer pours as a clear, golden colour with a thin finger of head which settles without a trace. From the beer comes a lightly sweet aroma along with notes of banana and coriander. A light Belgian-Yeast tone also comes in on the nose. Brewed with candi sugar and coriander this beer has a defined coriander flavour and a fairly big sweetness factor. The banana esters are also quite intense giving a big and fruit-filled body. Citrus notes balance out the equation in a beer that masks the high, 9.0% alcohol rating. The Red Collar Tripel is well balanced, flavourful, unique and very enjoyable.
