Dageraad Brewery Sri Lanka DubbelDageraad Belgian Brewery – Sri Lanka Belgian Dubbel Review

Dageraad continues with their Belgain tradition by brewing the Sri Lanka Dubbel. Brewed with tamarind and Sri Lankan kithul treacle this is an internationally inspired Belgain brew. From the bottle this somewhat globally inspired beer pours as a cloudy amber colour topped with a sliver of head. From the beer comes a sweet, slightly sour aroma. Notes of apple, pear and citrus come forward in a slightly cider-like aroma. Not your typical Dubbel the tamarind seeems to add a uniqueness to the smell. The flavour is a unique blend of traditional Dubbel flavour with a sweet, apple/pear fruitiness to it. A fairly large body and low carbonation brings out the sweetness further while the light tart tones from the treacle balance the overall flavour. The Sri Lanka  Dubbel is a unique yet traditional brew that adds something a little different to a delicious style of Belgian brew.
