Tree Brewing Co. – Hop Head IPA Review
The Hop Head has made a few appearances from Tree Brewing Co including as a Double IPA and a Black IPA. As a part of the recent RAW series launch the Hop Head can now be found as an India Pale Ale and is available in 355ml bottles. From the bottle this BC IPA pours as a lightly clouded amber colour with nearly three fingers of head at the top of the glass. From this Kelowna brewed IPA comes an aroma of citrus and malt. The hop tones come in the flavour of citrus tones and do not add much of a bitter kick. The flavour is grassy with a citrus bite. Defined malt tones join a sharp hop bitterness that kicks in as the finish approaches. This is not your hoppiest IPA and with that comes some nice malt tones. The hop flavour is a blend of piney BC flavour and a more traditional English style. The Hop Head is a tasty IPA that is just the right balance of hop and malt tones.
