From Penticton BC’s Bad Tattoo Brewing Company comes the West Coast IPA. This native art – adorned bottle was designed by Jeff White of the Kettle Valley Tattoo Company for a local, artistic infusion.  At 65 IBU and 6.2% this BC IPA cuts down the middle for expected intensity and flavour. From the bottle this Okanagan craft beer pours as a slightly clouded, amber colour with a half-finger’s worth of head on top. The beer smells of light caramel, tropical fruit, grapefruit and citrus in a mid-sweet, mid hopped brew.  The flavour is rather malty for the style with a grapefruit and pine hop flavour coming through strongest. A caramel sweetness is apparent in this mid-bodied IPA making for a beer that is balanced and flavourful. The Bad Tattoo West Coast IPA is true to BC tradition but with a bit more in the flavour than just a piney hop like you may expect.
