The Bohemian Pilsner is the newest bomber release from Victoria BC’s Vancouver Island Brewery. This traditional styled beer is labeled with a summer’s day ride along what appears to be Dallas Road heading from Ogden Point towards the University of Victoria. Perhaps location is irrelevant but if you have ever been to this location it is the perfect place to enjoy a Pilsner on a warm, summer, Victoria day. From the bottle this beer pours as a golden colour topped with two fingers of dense, fluffy and lacing head. A malty aromoa comes through the head with a light citrus kick. This Czech style pilsner has a distinct hop aroma from the iconic Saaz hops traditional of the style. The flavour is crisp and fresh while remaining flavourful and unique. The Saaz hops give a mellow but defined bitterness along side a mid-bodied malt base. Both refreshing and very enjoyable the Bohemian Pilsner is traditional by Czech standards and is a very delicious BC Pilsner. Surely a favourite for the summer months ahead!
