Firehall Brewery – Stoked Ember Ale Revies

Firehall Brewery is one of the smallest breweries in British Columbia but they too have started bottling their beers. You may struggle to find their beer outside of Oliver BC and surrounding towns but it is out their. The Stoked Ember ale is a copper colour with nearly three fingers of lacing head atop the glass. From this amber ale comes notes of toasted malts, mild dried fruits and a touch of caramel sweetness. The flavour is a touch darker than expected with caramel tones and dark fruit coming in relatively strong. A balance of hop and malt make for a beer that goes down smooth. A touch of peppery spice comes into play near the finish as a bit of a surprise. While this may not be typical for the style this little twist livens up the beer a little further and finishes off the flavour profile in style.
