Townsite Brewing Inc. – Westview Wheat Ale Review

Another beer coming out of Powell River this Wheat Ale pours an opaque, sediment rich orange colour topped with four plump fingers of head. Through this billowing head comes notes of orange, coriander, wheat and a touch of clove. The flavour profile starts out with a refreshing kick of carbonation and citrus along side the wheat base. This initial taste settles into a more full-bodied mid section where coriander, orange and clove make themselves known. At the end of your tasting is an orange-peel, slightly bitter, sweetened yet dry finish. The flavours are balanced and while there is a lot going on the overall impression is quite good. A citrus acidity, orange peel bitterness, citrus sweetness and some spices to boot make for a balanced, flavourful and very enjoyable beer. If you appreciate wheat beers be sure to pick up a bottle of this one as you will not be disappointed.
