Tree Brewing Co. – London Spy Porter Review

The Tree Brewing Spy Porter is a traditionally brewed English ale. The beer billows into the glass with 3 full fingers of head that clings to the side of the glass. The smell is of toasted malt and chocolate notes that make for a balance of sweetness and a mild bitterness. The taste starts off mellow with the toasted malts making for a dark, smooth and relatively light tasting porter. The chocolate notes build closer to the end of each taste giving a bitter-sweet finish that leaves that palate ready for more. There may not be a lot of uniqueness in this beer but it plays homage to hundreds of years of great porters by being true to its name and a great rendition of a truly classic ale.
