Russell Brewing Co. – Blood Alley Bitter Review

The Blood Alley ESB has a nutty amber colour to it with a thin but dense head. It starts off with a decent hop but mellows into a gentle nuttiness and an overall neutral aftertaste. It is the roasted malt flavours that seem to mellow the 50IBU bitterness. This is pleasant and easy to drink. The bitterness does not overpower the rest of the flavours but with a lightly hoppier than average taste it could prove to be a little much for those that do not like to hop.
