Parallel 49 Brewing Co. – Gypsy Tears Ruby Ale Review

The Gypsy Tears Ale is fairly dark and boasts a good hop coming in around a 40 IBU. It also shouts a burnt-honey flavour and a sweetness tied to it. The amber/brown colour is a little darker than you may expect with a touch more bitterness than typical. What is different adds uniqueness and this is a good tasting beer. The sweetness can be a touch over the top but seems to be mellowed by the hop flavour. The beer finishes as expected with a bitter-sweetness and settles into more of just a bitter.

I found that the hops and malts really came through and melded well together. The hops come through just a tad more but without being so powerful that they overpower the malts.
