Powell and Fuggles & Warlock Hikari Kettle Sourweizen Review Powell Street & Fuggles & Warlock – Hikari Imperial Dry-Hopped Sourweisse Review

Powell Street Brewing and Fuggles & Warlock Craftworks have teamed up and brewed a Sourweisse that by label design, looks fantastic. This Sour Wheat Ale pours from the bomber bottle a colour of straw with a light haze to the liquid. One finger of head tops the glass while an aroma of pineapple and citrus take over the nose. The dry hopping has made for a beer with big, tropical fruit tones along side a light sourness. The flavour brings a much sharper sour tone than the nose. At first the citrus flavour comes out strong building into a puckering sour. From here the pineapple starts to emerge and the sourness mellows into a dry wheat finish. This beer is a bit two faced between the nose and the flavour but they do work together to give a tropical and citrus infused sour that is quite puckering to say the least. Despite the sour intensity though it mellows into a dry and mellow finish.
