Scandal Brewing Aurora Beerialis Sake Yeast Beer ReviewIt seems like just yesterday that Scandal Brewing released the first of their 7-wonders series beers. This is now number 6 and it is called the Aurora Beerealis. Brewed with Sake Yeast this is another unique and international twist on brewing tradition from Scandal Beer. From the 750ml bottle this beer pours a clear, copper colour with the thinnest head imaginable. Through the topless beer comes a distinct Sake-like scent with caramel and mild dark fruit tones along side. The Saki-rice scent is out front though. The flavour is less Sake like than the nose with a light creaminess and brown-ale likeness. The beer is actually rather enjoyable with a relatively high sweetness and a rice/sake uniqueness that is a pleasant twist on BC flavours. Not your typical BC beer this leaves some room for improvement by Scandal but is a nice attempt at something different
