Victoria Beer Week - March 1 - 9, 2014

Victoria Beer Week is a nine-day festival highlighting a broad selection of BC craft breweries and educating Victorians about craft beer. The week will kick off on Saturday March 1 with a Cask Night at the Victoria Public Market and close with a Brewmaster’s Brunch at the Atrium on Sunday March 9, with additional tastings, seminars, movies and micro-events happening at various venues throughout the week.

Victoria Beer Week’s goal is to electrify Victoria through the first week of March, igniting beer lovers’ sense of excitement and exploration and offering newcomers to craft beer the opportunity to learn more about BC’s diverse and thriving craft beer industry. While some events are ticketed, others are open to the public (19+), and many of the city’s pubs, bars and restaurants are also participating with their own events or daily craft beer specials.

Victoria Beer Week will be firmly rooted in Downtown Victoria venues that are integral to the vitality of our city’s core. The kick-off Cask Night will be held at the still-fresh Victoria Public Market, featuring 30 breweries from across BC. Other downtown locations include the Vic Theatre, Little Jumbo, the Guild Free House, the Atrium, Lucky Bar, and Garrick’s Head Pub, which will act as Victoria Beer Week’s Headquarters, selling tickets and providing general information to the public.

Outside of ticketed events, we will be running a unique “Feature Schedule” throughout the week at local pubs and restaurants, encouraging deals on local beers and in many cases, custom selections of beer on tap throughout the week. Admission to these venues for these specials and features is free (unless otherwise indicated).

Since the Victoria Beer Week website was launched in January, response and energy for the festival has been extremely positive—a handful of events have already sold out. Victoria Beer Week is set to become another linchpin annual event for Victoria’s public to look forward to year after year.
