Trading Post has brewed up a Single Malt and Single Hop Saison called the Dear James. This beer comes in at 26 IBUs and 6.5% using Pilsner Malt and Mosaic Hops. Pouring the beer from the bomber bottle the Dear James is golden straw in colour and has one finger of lacing head that tops the glass. From the beer coes an aroma that is light and fresh with notes of melon, mango and lemon. The mosaic tones work well with the pilsner malt for a light and fruit forward aroma. Tastign the beer the Mosaic hop character comes through with greater strength. the mango and citrus notes take charge in a sessionable and easy drinking beer. Despite being 6.5% alcohol this is light and easy drinking with a fruity freshness. As far as SMASH beers go this one is refreshing and light while being big flavoured and quite unique. Overall a great BC craft beer!
