Lighthouse Brewing - Just Here For The Beer Imperial IPA ReviewLighthouse Brewing – Joe Leary’s Just Here For The Beer Imperial IPA Review

Joe Leary is no stranger to BC craft beer with his weekly radio segment on TSN 1410 called Just Here For The Beer. Working with Victoria’s Lighthouse Brewing they have brewed an Imperial IPA. This beer pours from the bomber bottle as a golden colour topped with one finger’s worth of lacing head. The aroma coming from the beer is of citrus, light tropical fruit and a boozy bitterness. The flavour is bigger than the aroma with a combination of mango, melon and citrus character that take charge with a distinct sweetness. This leads into a fairly bitter finish that has a lingering fruit character and booziness. It is difficult to peg without doing a side-by-side comparison but the Just Here For The Beer Imperial IPA seems quite similar to the Numbskull IPA, and that isn’t a bad thing.
