Tree Brewing Raw Series Red Lager Review Tree Brewing Co. – Raw Series Red Lager Review

In Tree Brewing’s Raw Series of limited release, unfiltered beers comes No. 6, a Red Lager. This beer comes in 6-packs of 355ml bottles and pours a colour of amber-brown which is darker than you may expect. A thick finger of head leaves light lacing behind on the glass and from the beer comes an aroma of toasted malt, honey sweetness and a light kick of rye-like spice. This beer has a bigger body than your typical lager and a bigger flavour as well. Toasted notes give a light sweetness and almost burnt flavour to the beer while the body has a bit of a creaminess to the texture. As the flavour progresses a spiciness joins the emerging hop tones in a pleasant, lightly bitter finish. This beer has a categorically big flavour but remains easy drinking and sessionable. All-in-all, this is a very enjoyable Red-twist on a traditional lager.
