Central City Imperial Cider BottleCentral City Brewing – Imperial Cider Review

Central City Brewers and Distillers have released their Imperial Cider, aged in oak barrels.  The cider pours from the 750mL bottle a clear golden colour with one finger of white head that dissipates quickly leaving no lacing.  The cider gives off aromas of juicy apples, vanilla and sweetness, along with some oak tones and a floral note.  The flavour is prominently of apple and bourbon, along with some booziness.  Vanilla, caramel, and woody tones appear as the cider warms up, balancing out the initial boozy hit.  There is a slight acidity on the finish, cutting through the other flavours.  This is definitely a cider to share and enjoy with friends and shows its best characteristics when allowed to warm up slightly.

Alcohol – 11%
Size – 750mL
