Driftwood & Persephone Brewing King Tide Saison Review Persephone & Driftwood Brewing – Collaboration King Tide Saison Review

Working with the BC Craft Brewers Guild the Persephone Brewing Company has teamed up with Driftwood Brewery to release the King Tide Saison. At a whopping 8.6% alcohol this is as big as they come for the style. Pouring the beer from a bomber bottle the King Tide is amber in colour and has two thick fingers of dense and lacing head. The aroma is rich with notes of banana, Belgian yeast notes and a bit of a booziness. Taking a sip the beer is big bodied with a slight creaminess to it. An effervescence hits the tongue early on and leads into a sweetness along side banana and caramel notes. A Belgian-Strong Ale like booze and toasted flavour takes over along side the banana flavour while the alcohol warms the back of the palate. The King Tide is a big and intense beer with a boozy kick to it. It may not be as smooth as some tamer beers but that is not the point. The King Tide wipes the beach clean and comes with a forceful extreme frame of mind.

Alcohol – 8.6%
Size – 650ml
