Russell Brewing Twig & Berries Kolsch Review Russell Brewing Co. – Twig & Berries Juniper Berry Kolsch Review

Surrey’s Russell Brewing has come up with what they are calling a Juniper Berry Kolsch under the name Twig & Berries. At 5% alcohol and 20 IBUs this beer comes in a bomber bottle and is a colour of gold with one finger of head. The aroma is not what you may expect. It has a honey sweetness to it with a slight fruity character. The malt character also comes through on the nose. Tasting the beer it is sweet with honey tones and has a strong, malty character to it. The Juniper berries do not have much of the gin-like character that you may expect but do add a bit of a fruity character to the beer. This beer is an interesting rendition of the Kolsch style and offers a bit more sweetness than is typical in the style.

Alcohol – 5.0%
